About AesthetiFact

AesthetiFact exists because of a strange gap: cosmetic surgery is one of the most researched fields in medicine, yet patients researching it online find almost none of that research. Just marketing pages, forum anecdotes, and influencer opinions.

Somewhere between the 38 million papers indexed in the medical literature and the person searching "is swelling normal two weeks after rhinoplasty" at 2 a.m., the evidence gets lost. AesthetiFact closes that gap: ask in plain language, get what the research actually says, in plain language, with an honest grade of how strong that research is.

Built with surgeons

AesthetiFact was developed in consultation with more than a dozen board certified plastic and facial plastic surgeons. The clinical data our engine draws on has always been available to doctors. It fills their journals, shapes their techniques, and guides their recommendations. It was simply never made accessible to the people making the biggest decisions of all: patients. We built this site to change that.

Surgeon consultation shaped every clinically sensitive part of the platform: the A to D evidence grading framework, the standards each answer must meet, the candidacy self-assessments and the factors they weigh, and the safety triage rules that put an urgent care advisory ahead of any literature summary. The questions our assessments ask about nicotine, motivation, expectations, and timing are the same ones thoughtful surgeons ask in consultation, because that is where they came from.

The platform's methodology and editorial standards are overseen by our named Medical Editorial Board, whose credentials and conflict of interest disclosures are published in full. How our evidence engine works and where human oversight applies is described in our editorial policy, and errors are handled under our corrections policy.

At the same time, no individual surgeon or practice speaks through AesthetiFact. Answers are grounded in the published, peer-reviewed literature and cite their sources, so any clinician, including yours, can check our work against the same studies we read.

Independence

AesthetiFact does not sell procedures, does not accept payment for answer content, and does not steer readers to any practice or product. No manufacturer, clinic, or surgeon can pay to influence what an answer says. Our only job is to represent the literature faithfully.

How answers are made

Every answer is built by searching the indexed peer-reviewed literature (PubMed / MEDLINE), synthesizing only what the retrieved studies say, and grading the strength of that evidence from A to D. When the research is thin or does not address a question directly, we say so plainly instead of guessing. The full framework is on our methodology page.

What AesthetiFact is not

AesthetiFact is not a doctor, does not know your history, and cannot examine you. It is a starting point for a better conversation with your surgeon, never a substitute for one.
