How we score evidence
Most health information online tells you an answer. AesthetiFact tells you how much confidence the published research actually supports. Every answer is built by searching the indexed peer-reviewed literature (PubMed / MEDLINE), synthesizing only what the retrieved studies say, and assigning a transparent grade based on the standard hierarchy of medical evidence.
Multiple randomized controlled trials or systematic reviews and meta-analyses pointing the same direction. You can rely on this.
At least one good randomized trial, or consistent large cohort studies. Probably true, with some uncertainty.
Small or observational studies, case series, or conflicting results. Treat as informed opinion, not fact.
The research does not clearly answer this question yet. We say so plainly rather than guessing.
Our rules
- Answers come only from retrieved studies. Every claim links to a citation you can verify on PubMed.
- We refuse to overstate. When the literature is inconclusive, the honest answer is a D grade, not a confident guess.
- Safety overrides everything. Questions describing possible complication symptoms are met with an urgent care advisory before any literature summary.
- No sponsored answers. No manufacturer, clinic, or surgeon can pay to influence what an answer says. Ever.
- Medical review. Answer standards, candidacy assessments, and safety triage rules are reviewed with board certified plastic surgeons.
What AesthetiFact is not
AesthetiFact is not a doctor, does not know your history, and cannot examine you. It summarizes what published research says about questions in general: a starting point for a better conversation with your surgeon, never a substitute for one.
